Itinerary day by day

Day1 Friendship Bridge/Zhangmu
Today our guide and vehicle will meet you at Friendship Bridge. Then you will be transferred to Zhangmu and rest in hotel.

Day2 Zhangmu/Mt. Everest
Drive to Mt. Everest via Tingri. Go to visit Rongbuk Monastery, world’s highest monastery situated at 5200km. Rongbuk is the power place through which all seeking the highest peak via the North Face must pass. It is the sacred threshold to Mt. Everest with the most dramatic views in the world. Then go to Mt. Everest Base Camp.

Day3 Mt. Everest-Sakya
After breakfast you will drive to Sakya via Tingri. Go to visit Sakya Monastery.

Day4 Sakya -Shigatse
Later in the morning, drive to Shigatse. It’s the second largest city in Tibet. Then go to visit Go to visit the foremost attraction in Shigatse – Tashilumpo Monastery and local free market in the afternoon.

Day5 Shigatse-Gyangtse
After breakfast you will drive about 90KM to Gyangtse. Go to visit Shalu Monastery on the way. Upon arrival, visit the Pelkhor Monastery for its famous Kumbu Stupa.

Day6 Gyangtse-Lhasa
After breakfast drive to Lhasa. On the way view one of the holy lakes in Tibet-Yamdroktso Lake.

Day7 Sightseeing in Lhasa
In the whole morning visit Potala Palace. The highest palace in the world! It is more than 3,700 meters above sea level. At the top the palace called golden roofs; you can have a bird-eye view of the whole. Lhasa. In the distance are undulating mountain ranges, the beautiful Lhasa River, tracts of fields, tree-shaded of villages and the glistening Jokhang Temple.
Next you will visit Jokhang Temple. The Jokhang Temple is the home of the statutes of the revered Buddha, Shakyamuni. While all Buddhist statutes are magnificently robed in colorful brocade and adorned with pearls, turquoise, coral, and silver, solid gold bowls of holy water rest before Shakyamuni as well as offerings of yuen (money) and khatas (scarves) left by pilgrims. The rest time goes for a visit to bustling Barkhor Market Street, you can get a close touch of real Tibetan market sightseeing or shopping there.

Day8 Sightseeing in Lhasa
Morning visit the Drepung monastery. Drepung once housed 10,000 monks, If we're lucky, we'll quietly ease into a dark columned hall to see and hear the lilting, booming chanting or the sutras, or perhaps sit under a willow tree and watch as the monks engage in theatrical debate
Afternoon go for the tour of Sera monastery, enjoy the interesting lection debate of Lamas.

Day9 Lhasa-Tsedang
After breakfast drive to Tsedang which is located on the Shan’nan area. Go for the tour to Samye Monastery, in the morning. Then hike around in monastery and you can communicate with monk.

Day10 Tsedang- Nyang-tri
You will drive to Nyang-tri.

Day11 Nyang-tri- BoMi
Drive to BoMi.

Day12 Bomi-Basu
After breakfast continue drive to Basu.

Day13 Basu –ZuoGun-Mangkang
Today continue drive to Mangkang via ZuoGun.

Day14 Mangkang-Deqin
After breakfast drive to Deqin. Then drive along theLantsang. Canyon and out of Tibet. On the road you can go for the tour of Original brine pan in Salt Well and Tibetan Style
Church. On the way, you will pass snow-capped Mountains of Meili.You can enjoy the beautiful scenery around Meili Mountains..

Day15 Deqin-Zhongdian
Upon arrival excursion to Bita Lake Nature Reserve. Then go to visit Old city.

Day15 Zhongdian /Chengdu
After breakfast you will be transferred to airport and then fly to Chengdu.

Some tips for this trip:

1. Do not be afraid of the AMS. This route starts from Chengdu of Sichuan basin, then heading west to higher altitude. Although there are several passes beyond 4000m, there will be no problem due to the short passing time. (More about the Altitude Illness)
2. The restaurants along the way can provide simple Chinese and Tibetan food, but you抎 better bring some solid food.
3. The best travel season for this route is May, June, September and October. Avoiding taking this route in July and August, landslide may occur during the rainy season.
4. The driving hour will be long for this tour, and most of visiting will be stay in the vehicle.
5. You'd better not go outside of the hotel in the night in the small towns or villages, for the sake of security.
