Lhasa, capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, covers an area of 544 square kilometers and is "The Land of Gods" in Tibetan, sits on the north bank of River Lhasa, a tributary of the Yarlung Tsangbo River, at an altitude of 3,700 meters. It has a history of over 13 centuries. With more than 3,000 hours of sunshine annually, Lhasa is famed as "the City of Sunshine". It is the capital of Tibet Autonomous Region and the center of Tibet's political, economic, cultural and religious activities. There are many historic sites and famous relics in the city proper and its suburbs, among which the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery and Ganden Monastery are world famous.

Itinerary day by day:(Lhasa-Namtso-Tsedang-Gyangtse-Shigatse-Tingri-Mt. Everest Base Camp-Tingri-Zhangmu)
Day 01 Fly to Lhasa
 Potala Palace

Take the flight into Tibet. Local guide will meet you and transfer you to Lhasa. The rest time is free for relax and more oxygen.
Day 02 Lhasa Sightseeing
Today, we go for a visit of the highest palace in the world—Potala Palace. It is the winter palace of Dalai Lama where Dalai Lama lived and ruled. Visit Sera monastery for the lection debating (except Sundays) in the afternoon.
Day 03 Lhasa Sightseeing
You will go for a tour of the most renowned temple of Tibet—Jokhang Temple in the morning. In the temple, you can see devout pilgrims doing prayer. Surrounding the temple is the Barkhor Street, where you can buy many souvenirs. Then go to visit Drepung monastery .
Day 04 Lhasa-Namtso-Lhasa
Drive about 250km to Namtso Lake. On the way, you will pass the Tibet nomads’ area where you can see flocks of sheep or goats and yaks, Yangpanchen Hot Spring and snow-capped mountains of Nyianchen Tanghla. And there are two mountain passes named shogula and Dongula. When arriving, enjoy the glory sunset over Namtso Lake. By the lake, you can view the peak of Nyianchentangula (7162m). Then drive back to Lhasa city.
Day 05 Lhasa-Tsedang
Drive to Tsedang and look Yalung Tsangpo on the road. And then visit Samye monastery.
Day 06Tsedang /Gyangtse
Today we will drive out of Lhasa to Gyantse. On the way, you will visit the famous holy lake named Yamdroktso Lake. You could see it along the road for long distance. When arrive in Gyangtse, we will go to the Pelkhor monastery which is famous for its Kumbu Pagoda.
Day 07 Gyangtse/Shigatse
After breakfast we will drive to Shigatse. Shigatse is the 2nd largest city in Tibet and also the most important city of rear Tibet. Upon arrival in Shigatse, you will visit the Tashilumpo monastery which is the main attraction of Shigatse, it is one of 6 most famous monasteries in Tibetan Buddhism and it is the residence of Panchen Lama. There you can enjoy the highest bronze statue of Buddha, called future Buddha. The rest time will be spent in local free market; you may find something special goods.
Day 08 Shigatse/Tingri
Transfer to Tingri. On the way, you will visit small Tibetan villages and appreciate great sightseeing.
Day 09 Tingri (Shegar)-Rongbuk Monastery- Old Tingri
Drive via Pangla Pass to Rongbuk Monastery, world’s highest monastery situated at 5200km. Rongbuk is the power place through which all seeking the highest peak via the North Face must pass. It is the sacred threshold to Mt. Everest with the most dramatic views in the world. In the afternoon, you can drive back to Tingri.
Day 10 Old Tingri- Zhangmu
Accommodation: White horse hotel in 2-bed room or similar class if late booking Drive about 250 KM to Zhangmu which is located at the border of the China.
Day 11 Zhangmu –Friendship Bridge
Drive to Friendship Bridge and across the bridge. Tour ends.

A. one more day to Yamdrok Lake or Yampacheng for the grassland

Yamdrok Lake: On the old road between Gyanste and Lhasa, dazzling Yamdrok lake can be seen from the summit of the Kamba-la (4794m). The lake lies several hundred metres below the road, and in clear weather is a fabulous shade of deep turquoise. Far in the distance is the huge massif of Mt. Nojin Kangtsang (7191m).
B. one more day to Namsto Lake

Namsto Lake: Namsto, approximately 190km north-west of Lhasa, is the second-largest saltwater lake in China. It is over 70km long and reaches a width of 30km. They Nyenchen Tangula range, with peaks of more than 7000m, towers over the lake to the south. Namtso is a tidal lake and the ring marks of earlier lake levels are clearly visible by the shoreline. In clear weather the water is a miraculous shade of turquoise and there are magnificent views of the nearby mountains. The wide open spaces, dotted with tents of local nomads, are intoxicating.
C. one more day to Gandan Monastery or Tsurphu Monastery

Gandan Monastery: Gandan, just 40km north-east of Lhasa, was the first Gelugpa monastery. If you only have time for one monastery excursion outside Lhasa, Ganden would probably be the best choice. With its stupendous views of the surrounding Kyi-chu Valley and fascinating kora, Ganden is an experience unlike the other major Gelugpa monasteries in the Lhasa area.
Tsurphu Monastery: Tsurphu Monastery around 70km west of Lhasa, is the seat of the Karmapa branch of the Kagyupa order of Tibetan Buddhism. The Karmapa are also known as the Black Hats, a title that dates back to 1256.
